Nitrous oxide is a surgical service we offer. It is commonly known as “laughing gas,” and is a safe and effective way of managing pain and anxiety in dentistry. Nitrous is immediately reversible and has minimum to no side effect when used appropriately. Some potential side affects with high nitrous exposure are headaches, shivering, sweating, nausea/vomiting and fatigue. Nitrous sedation is the safest and preferred method of sedation in dentistry for children.
